The Killaloe Pink Ribbon Walk is open to women and men of all fitness abilities. The minimum age to take part is 16 years. Anyone younger must be accompanied at all times by a responsible adult. We request that there is at least one adult present for every two under age participants.
-Is the course wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately, some of the terrain on the route makes this course unsuitable for wheelchair athletes.
-Can I bring my child in a buggy?
Unfortunately, due to the terrain on the course, we do not have insurance for people to bring children under 16 or buggies on the Killaloe Pink Ribbon Walk.
Free parking will be provided on the day in the grounds of the Lakeside and in a nearby temporary carpark. Just follow the pink parking arrows on the day and our friendly parking attendants will assist you.
-Will there be toilet facilities?
Yes. There are bathrooms in the Lakeside Hotel and there will also be portable toilets in two locations around the course.
-Will there be water provided or will I bring my own?
There will be regular water stops provided along the way and at the end of the walk.
-What happens if I injure myself or feel I cannot complete the walk?
St Johns Ambulance will be providing medical assistance on the day of the walk. There will also be officials at every kilometre along the walk who can organise prompt transport back to the hotel for anyone who feels they cannot finish the course.
-How much money do I have to raise?
We would ask all individual participants to raise a minimum of €100 in sponsorship.
-Where will my sponsorship money go?
All money raised in sponsorship will go directly to Action Breast Cancer. The 2010 Killaloe Pink Ribbon Walk raised an amazing €80,000 for Action Breast Cancer and we are hoping to make over €100,000 this year.
-Where does my registration fee go?
The €20 registration fee includes administration costs, you free pink ribbon t-shirt, your medal at the end of the race and a post event meal.
