Carbohydrates are a good source of energy; protein rebuilds and repairs muscles; fats help your body absorb vitamins, lubricate your joints and produce energy.
Eating and exercise
A balanced light meal before you exercise provides energy. And a small meal of protein and carbs within two hours of your training gives your body what it needs to build and repair muscles and the blood vessels that supply them.
Drink fluids before, during and after exercise to help avoid dehydration, especially in hot weather.
